Hi and welcome to Tote Shoppe, an online boutique based in New York City.

I'm Sabrina Lee. I studied Textile Craft + Design at Capellagården in Sweden and earned a MFA in Fiber from Cranbrook Academy of Art.

I'm heavily influenced by Pop Art, as seen in my portrait, taken in front of a Keith Haring mural at Brooklyn Museum. When it comes to what inspires me, I tend to be drawn to the chaotic; bold colors, complex patterns, layered textures, lines in architecture, repetition in nature, and street art. I use imagery and symbols inspired by my everyday observations. My work takes cues from this overloaded visual Pop Culture and is then distilled down into simplified graphic forms.

I find the form of the tote bag to be like a blank canvas. It provides a simple backdrop for the graphic nature of screenprints. My bags are hand printed using water-based inks on 100% cotton. I hope you will love these totes; for a day out on the town, for a trip to the farmers market, or packed as an extra bag to bring home special finds from your travels.
